Payroll & Accounting

I have heard payroll company horror stories from restaurant owners. Don’t let that be you by going with a proven payroll service! That, combined with a good CPA and quality accounting software is a wise choice for those of us without a degree in accounting.

Best Payroll Service

Gusto

Gusto is a feature-rich all-in-one payroll platform that allows you to manage all aspects of payroll while fully integrating with Quickbook. This includes the ability to manage 401ks, workmen’s comp, and benefits.

What sets Gusto apart from my second choice is its ability to integrate with both Upserve and Trainual. Gusto is the way to go if you’re using either of these platforms (which you should be!).

Price: $39 Per Month Base plus $6 per employee.

OnPay

OnPay literally does everything that Gusto does with a reputation that is just as positive. The only thing that sets it apart is its lack of integration with Upserve POS and Trainual.

If you are okay without that integration or need to save every penny possible, then Onpay is a solid choice.

Price: $36 Per Month Base plus $4 per employee.

Best Accounting Software

Quickbooks

Why I Recommend Them

Quickbooks is the gold standard of accounting software. Their ability to integrate with other systems is far above the competition. Most CPA’s are QuickBooks masters which saves them time and, in turn, saves you money.

There are cheaper options that can do 50% of what QuickBooks can do. When you weigh the price savings of the competition with the features of QuickBooks that can save time and identify cost savings, QuickBooks emerges as the obvious choice.
